Our Stories: Histories and Mysteries

  • Oct 22, 2016, 7:00 PM

Can you spin a good yarn? Do you enjoy a good story? Interested in a rollicking fun time?... If so, mark your calendar for October 22, 2016.

Your Theatre Inc. invites you to an evening entertainment in two parts.

Act One: Four fascinating stories from New Bedford residents

Act Two: A competitive Story Slam with Slam Master, Rich Berg.

Act One consists of Ed Maguire's retrospective "Your Theatre Inc., 70 Years and Counting," Gloria Clark's story "Doing Whatever Comes Next," Cora Peirce's tale "Kathitha, the Center of the Heart is Sweetest," and Mark Fuller/Janine da Silva's joint telling of "Martyr to Freedom."

Act Two will be an exciting and fast-paced bout of original five-minute stories told in elimination rounds, judged by a panel of three. In Story Slams, slammers present real life stories in competition.

Competitors will be chosen no later than midnight, October 1, 2016. Applicants should apply by email or online at the YTI web site at yourtheatre.org. Minimum age is 16 years. Rules will be available online, and emailed to applicants. More information is available at YTI 508-993-0772 or the YTI web site. Email questions to storytellers@yourtheatre.org.

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. for coffee and desserts, and the storytelling begins at 7:30. Sign up to compete in the story slam HERE.
