A Murder Is Announced - Auditions

  • Aug 22, 2019, 7:00 PM

Your Theatre, Inc. is holding auditions Thursday, August 22 at 7pm for all roles in the upcoming 2019-2020 Season production of A Murder Is Announced by Agatha Christie, adapted by Leslie Darbon. The performances run from Nov 7 to Nov 17, 2019.

Director Robin Richard is casting all roles. There are 12 people in the cast 7 female and 5 male which include some small parts for those interested in acting for the first time.

Auditions are held in the playhouse located in St. Martin's Church/Hall complex, 136 Rivet Street at Country Street, in New Bedford. The auditions are open to all actors over the age of 16. Auditions will consist of a cold reading from the script.

The play centers on an announcement in the local paper that states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock's Victorian house. The victim is not one of the house's several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution at some risk to herself in a dramatic confrontation.

Experience is not necessary; just the desire to participate and share the experience of live theatre and the enjoyment of collaborating with other talented individuals.

Your Theatre celebrates diversity and seeks people of all backgrounds regardless of age, race, creed, or national origin. All are welcome!
