Six Cast in Time Travel Comedy Thriller

NEW BEDFORD, MA -- Six SouthCoast actors have been cast in Your Theatre, Inc.’s upcoming production of Alan Ayckbourn’s, time travel comedy thriller, Communicating Doors. The actors are, Stephanie Caron of Wareham, Cynthia Sullivan of Taunton, Fedje Lang, Robin Richard, Harvey Ussach, and Aaron Viera of New Bedford.

Lawrence R. Houbre, Jr. of New Bedford will direct with Lawrence R Houbre, III, also of New Bedford, stage managing the production. The play, which will be the first of five major productions, scheduled for YTI’s 61st Season will open September 12.

The play revolves around Ms. Poopay Dayseer, a twenty-first century Sexual Consultant, who while peddling her services to an elderly hotel room client unexpectedly finds herself running for her life. Her flight through a communicating door brings her face to face with her own past and with the wife of her client who, twenty years earlier, apparently died under suspicious circumstances.

Communicating Doors premiered in Scarborough England in 1995. It transferred to London in the fall of that year where it won the Best Play of 1996 award from the Writer's Guild of Britain. It was also nominated for best play by the Olivier and Moliere committees. The play was a smash hit in London and later transferred to New York where it had a s successful run off-Broadway.
