Your Theatre, Inc. is holding auditions January 23 at 7 P.M. for all roles in the upcoming 2019-2020 Season special attraction production of 'The Flattering Word' by George Kelly. The performances run April 16 to 19, 2020. This is a director's workshop, and one part of a two act presentation.

Director Mellanie Crowther is casting all roles. Auditions consist of cold readings from the script, and are held in the playhouse located in St. Martin's Church/Hall complex, 136 Rivet Street at Country Street, in New Bedford. Auditions are open to all actors over the age of 16.

Characters:

The Reverend Loring Rigley, a pastor, about 40 years old

Mary Rigley, his wife, about 30

Mrs. Zooker, a church volunteer, age flexible

Lena Zooker, a teenager

Eugene Tesh, a famous actor, about 30

The play centers around a pastor's wife that learns that an old school friend, now a famous actor, is coming to town and would like to catch up with her. Unfortunately, her husband objects: Their church frowns upon theatrics. Meanwhile, a church volunteer is excited about the opportunity to promote the career of her wildly untalented daughter. When the actor sets out to prove that anyone can be convinced that they have dramatic talent, hilarity ensues.

Experience is not necessary; just the desire to participate and share the experience of live theatre and the enjoyment of collaborating with other talented individuals.

Your Theatre celebrates diversity and seeks people of all backgrounds regardless of age, race, creed, or sexual preference. All are welcome!
