NEW BEDFORD, MA – Veteran YTI Director Edward J. Maguire of Fairhaven, MA has cast three Southeastern Massachusetts area actors to take the stage in the fascinatingly quirky comic drama, The Vandal by Hamish Linklater;  the second major attraction of Your Theatre, Inc.'s 72nd season.

The cast includes Alison Markella Hutchinson of Plymouth as the woman and Phillip Markella of Plymouth as the man with Daniel Gabriel Sallom of New Bedford as The Boy. The production stage Manager is Sylvia White of New Bedford with lighting design by Lawrence R. Houbre, Jr. of New Bedford, sound design by William C. Smith of Dartmouth and set design by Edward J. Maguire of Fairhaven.

The Vandal involves three characters in a nighttime terrain marked by a hospital, a bus stop, a graveyard, and a liquor store. Night, cold, a bus stop in Kingston, New York. A woman waits. A boy walks up. The characters, known as woman, boy and man are all emotional and unusual in one way or another. With an ending you’d never see coming, this tale of life, death, rage, and forgiveness addresses what it means to exist as a modern human.

Viewer Discretion advised!! Some may find the language or content objectionable.

"Mr.. Linklater writes tart, often friskily funny dialogue. All three characters are effectively drawn with sharp contours..." --NY Times. "Wistful? It's about the unbreakable bond between life and death and the little pleasures and huge hurts along the way ... Linklater could take the narrative anywhere. He leads it to the Twilight Zone." --NY Daily News. "Intimate ... dryly funny ... [with] a final twist that lands halfway between O. Henry and M. Night Shyamalan." --NY Post. The Vandal received five-star reviews on DCTheatreScene.com and DCMetroTheaterArts.com, enthusiastic audience reactions, and sold-out houses.
