New Bedford - Your Theatre, Inc. is holding auditions October 23 and October 25 at 7pm, for all roles in the upcoming 2018-2019 Season production of "A Man For All Seasons" by Robert Bolt. The performances are from May 9 to May 19, 2019.

Auditions are held in the playhouse located in St. Martin's Church/Hall complex, 136 Rivet Street at Country Street, in New Bedford. The auditions are open to all actors over the age of 16. Experience is not necessary; just the desire to participate and share the experience of live theatre and the enjoyment of collaborating with other talented individuals.

Auditions will consist of a cold reading from the script. Director Bob Gillet is casting all roles, consisting of eleven men and three women of various ages. Character information is available at yourtheatre.org.

The play is the powerful historical portrait of Sir Thomas More - counselor to King Henry VIII - and the unfaltering will in what he believes. The powerful King desires to divorce his barren first wife and marry another. After Henry goes through with his divorce and separates the Church of England from the Catholic Church, More resigns as Chancellor. Torn between his religious beliefs, his family, his duty to the King, More is arrested after Parliament forces citizens to sign an oath acknowledging Henry VIII's spiritual Supremacy. Refusing to sign this oath, and also refusing to explain his reasoning, More goes to trial and is beheaded.

Your Theatre celebrates diversity and seeks people of all backgrounds regardless of age, race, creed, or sexual preference. All are welcome!
