Director Sanguinetti Announces Cast of LaBute’s The Shape of Things

Director James Sanguinetti announces the cast of Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things, playing at Your Theatre in New Bedford weekends Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 22.

“Mean and marvelous, Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things has more surprises than a case full of Cracker Jack boxes, and every one is neatly tucked away behind a candy coating of romantic comedy,” wrote Barbara and Scott Siegel for TheaterMania.

Unpacking the surprises at Your Theatre are Sawyer Smook-Pollitt of New Bedford as Adam, a shy, awkward college student who has never had luck with women and gets transformed by Evelyn over the course of the play, and Kathleen Seagriff-Chapman (Pawtucket, RI) as Evelyn, a free-spirited art student with unconventional views on life and love. Joining them onstage are Nathan Mello (New Bedford) as Adam’s friend and former roommate Phillip, who challenges Adam’s transformation, and Megan Ruggiero (Pawtucket, RI) as Phillip’s fiancée Jenny, who notices Adam’s changes and starts to question her relationship to Phillip.

The Shape of Things is directed by James Sanguinetti of New Bedford. Stage Manager is Mellanie Crowther (Fairhaven), and Technical Director is Lawrence R. Houbre, Jr. (New Bedford).
